This pair of Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain vases are a beautiful edition to any home.
There are raised, applied elements (lotus flowers) that are in 3D clinging to “branches” that are sculptural. This decorative effect (mixing painted enamel and moulded relief was typical of Qing Dynasty).
The overall design (blossoms and twisting branches) evokes motifs of longevity.
The form is a baluster/bottle shape with a long neck, and the body bulges, and the sculpted branches wind up the body.
The vases are in exceptional condition and have character marks to bases.
